English romantic poet George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron, is known today simply as "Lord Byron." Historians suspect he may have become a Freemason during the time he stayed in Italy; however, his Masonic status remains unconfirmed. What is known of him, among other things, is the personal cup from which he drank was made from a human skull. Lord Byron wrote of the cup in his poem "Lines Inscribed Upon a Cup Formed From a Skull" and elsewhere had this to say about it, "The gardener in digging discovered a skull... Observing it to be of giant size and in a perfect state of preservation, a strange fancy seized me of having it set and mounted as a drinking cup."
Generally these are short scenarios about Masons and Masonry that can be read in just a few minutes. Occasionally I also publish some of my longer Masonic articles and even some personal accounts as well.
